Elevate Your Pilates Practice

with Echelon Pilates

Classical Plates is a unique and effective approach to physical fitness inspired by principles of strength, balance, and endurance. Rooted in the foundations of athleticism, this training method combines the wisdom of ancient fitness practices with modern exercise science to create a holistic and transformative workout experience.

Much of the equipment Joe Pilates invented uses low-impact spring resistance, as well as rounded surfaces meant to support, enhance, and educate the body. I use high-end Contrology and Gratz equipment in my studio to give students the best results.

The Echelon Philosophy:

I believe in the timeless nature of the original Pilates method. My philosophy is based on the understanding that classical training methods have endured the test of time for a reason – they work. By blending the classical methodology with high quality equipment, I aim to provide a well-rounded and sustainable fitness program.

Key Elements of Echelon Classical Pilates Training:

Balanced Strength:

Pilates focuses on developing balanced strength across the entire body. By incorporating a variety of movements, along with different relationships to gravity, spring resistance, and/or rounded surfaces, every muscle group in the entire body is engaged, promoting overall functional strength.

A Strong Center:

The center includes the entire back, abdominals, seat, and inner thighs. A strong center is the foundation of any effective fitness program. Classical Pilates trains the body to move from the center first, or as we say the “inside-out,” which supports improved posture, balance, and overall body control.

Flexibility and Mobility:

Pilates exercises are designed to enhance flexibility and mobility. By incorporating flowing movements and active stretches, we aim to safely improve your range of motion and reduce the risk of injuries.

Mind-Body Connection:

In line with classical training principles, my approach emphasizes the importance of the mind-body connection. Through mindful and intentional movement, you’ll not only strengthen your body, but also enhance your mental focus and clarity.
